Network Orientation

WHAT: During this two-month training, participants will learn the nuts and bolts of what it means to be a member of Fierce Vulnerability Network. Using the FVN Handbook as our guide, we will deepen our understanding in the history and foundation of our movement, our guiding principles, our core practices and organizational systems.
Our hope is that after attending this training, participants will be ready to start and lead their own local, decentralized teams – the core of our network.
This training is the second of the two-part process for onboarding into FVN. Once individuals have completed both parts and have joined an active team, they are considered full members of FVN.
WHO: This training will be led by Kazu Haga and Wei-Li King from Oakland CA, Leonie Smith from Vancouver BC, Tim Nafziger from Ventura CA and other members of FVN.
This training is for anybody who is interested in becoming a formal, active member of FVN.
WHEN: The training begins on Thursday, January 14th and consists of eight weekly 2.5-hour sessions, from 3:30PM – 6:00PM Pacific Time (click here to find your local time). Participants are expected to attend every session, live wherever possible. Calls will be recorded.
WHERE: This will be a virtual training.
COST: The training is offered in the Gift Economy. Every participant will be invited to contribute what they are able to to help meet the needs of the organizers and trainers.
HOW: This training, and full participation in our network, is not for everybody. And that is okay. We do not envision ourselves as a huge network with thousands of members. Our hope is that each cycle of onboarding creates 2-3 teams capable of experimenting with our model.
Onboarding into our network is a significant commitment. Click here to read more, and to begin this journey with us!
